What to Expect During Your Eye Care Consultation
We want you to enjoy your very best vision while feeling comfortable, safe, and fully informed about the decision to do so. When you arrive for your scheduled eye care consultation, we will share an informative instructional video with you called Eyemaginations. This video will help you understand the eye diseases you are suffering from. Many patients tell us they find this portion of the consultation enjoyable, pleasant and educational.
During your consultation, you’ll also meet with ophthalmologists in Edison, Dr. Hitesh K. Patel or Dr. Himanshu S. Shah. Both are board-certified ophthalmologists with many years of experience and the special expertise that stems from successfully completing thousands of LASIK procedures. The doctors will take a full medical history to understand your eyes and eye health. Your vision exam may also include:
- Full corneal mapping
- Refraction measurement
- Corneal thickness measurement
- Tear film evaluation
- Precise plotting of pupil size
In essence, we’ll perform whatever tests are necessary to fully diagnose your eye care needs and recommend the most up-to-date solutions.
Our Eye Care Philosophy
Unlike some LASIK practices that pass patients from staff to doctor to technician and back again, our eye surgeons take the time to get to know you personally and will customize a treatment solution just for your unique eye care needs. We will stay with you throughout your consultation, procedure, and recovery to ensure the very best outcome.
We fully expect you to have questions and concerns about your vision condition, our recommended treatment plan, and costs. Our first goal is to listen carefully as you voice your concerns, and then answer every question thoroughly. If necessary, we can discuss financing options. We’ll explain our technology and techniques, and we encourage you to ask questions as needed.
